I saw this for the first time in the Wall Street Journal. Very interesting.

this ad is not very surprising, or out of line really. There is a lot of awareness going on about stopping predators and child abusers, including a Dateline show dedicated to catching them in the potential act http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/15723886/to_catch_a_predator_is_nbcs_primetime_dragnet_the_new_american_witch_hunt

If statistically, sexual predators are typically male, then it should not be taken offensively that most of these kinds of advertisements are geared towards men. It's the most necessary group to target. In saying this, with this specific advertisement, besides the adult's hand probably being a guy's, I don't think this advertisement is necessarily geared towards only men.

As far as how men should act towards children, use common sense. Unfortunately, it is something society is sensitive about it for a reason. For example: http://abcnews.go.com/TheLaw/story?id=3327860&page=1

"to seek out low-risk adults, like women "

So I was thinking about this. A lot of things (things because i'm bout to talk about animals too) are afraid of males.
On the very most basic level, biological, the only way for a male to not be "scary" is to look like a female. For mammals anyway, the males are scarier just in disposition...they're bigger in general and a lot have hypermasculine scary features; like if you want to think about deer and huge antlers or narwals that have ivory tusks...you can go on. Men have bigger brow ridges and muscles and bigger hands and feet, so on a certain level they have evolved to be scarier in the first place...

And testosterone causes most of these effects we think...even masculine women are scarier than your avg women....

Then taking into consideration the other effects of testosterone...
