@ Speakeasy
$8 w/ costume, $10 w/o
21+
DJs: Beat Bachs, Baby Armie, and myself

We did this last year at the OPO and it was pretty awesome... and nearly 700 people showed up. Capacity at Speakeasy is like 300 so if you want to come it might be best to show up before party o'clock since we will likely be at capacity at some point, if not most of the night.

Just think of it as a walk down memory lane. A sweaty, trashy, packed walk.

I hope they still keep mints in the bathroom for me to steal.

Will (one of the DJs) is the resident DJ there now and has pretty good rapport with the owners -- i.e. he was able to convince her that we could make her some $$$. In spite of how much $$$ the OPO made last year because of this, the only other place that was even willing to entertain the idea was Scarpino's, but they are incredibly difficult to work with so we chose the lesser or two evils.

next time you deal with scarpino's, go through masie. she is working there again and used to manage. i'd say their evilness levels will change for the better.

Last time we played at Scarpino's I went through another good friend of mine that worked there for years. The problem was that the owners showed up and micromanaged (e.g. double-booked a salsa night, complained about the style of the music, tried to stop people from bringing drinks on the dancefloor, etc). So I would only entertain the notion of doing another show there if Masie could assure me that the owners wouldn't pull that shit again.

Bump. I think I'll be playing from 11:15-12:15, if you're into that sort of thing.
