Charles...you type an essay about a week of winter league, SURELY you can be more specific with how the Saturday went haha. Was it rained out all day?

Saturday: Speed woke up and got to the fields in a downpour in a lightening delay. 30 minutes later we started warming up for our first game against Texas state. Speed went up 2-1 when it was still lightening then Abe Coffin caught a Callahan and we went up 3-1. After lightening delays lasting until 2, the day was finally cancelled

Sunday: After a long Saturday night on bourbon (especially for coach wax and Todd) we got to the fields ready to win. The weather was actually playable today with temperatures in the mid 50s and around 15 mph winds Facing Miami Ohio, we took half at 7-1 and finished it out 13-2. The fields turned into a mud pit quickly and things turned messy. We next played Mississippi state and went up quickly led by Abe Coffin, MattyJ, and Wesley with our offense flowing through them for the most part. We took half 7-2 and stepped off the gas slightly to win it 10-6. The fields at this point were no longer grass fields, just a mud pit. Speed moved on to the semis to face Missouri, a team we had played in the past and beat them 10-9 in the harvest semis. Points were traded until we broke upwind however they broke us upwind right back. We on a 3-0 run to take half 7-6 and broke once again upwind after a dropped Missouri pull. The closely contested game made us play with a shorter roster than normal and with missing Cox (back) Seaton (shoulder) Logan (quad) Pat Randal (flu) and Stu (Army) our legs started to ware out Mizzou used this to go on a 4-0 run and we trade points to finish the game with a 12-10 loss. Abe led our team with 7 assists and Wesley led us in goals with 6.

There was good play all weekend by notably Brian Trussell, Jake White, Wes, and Abe. Our next tournament will be Trouble in Vegas the first weekend of March

Calvin gave us a peptalk about finishing out bracket play after a loss, so it looked like we might play them for some position (6th? 7th?). But then another team came along that wanted to play Texas more than we did. So they did.

So, Saturday we ate too much Jambalaya and the weather was shitty so we decided to let this other team play what was going to be our last game of frisbee and we just left the fields to find a Cici's pizza even though we were pretty full and then we went back and took showers and naps. When we woke up we headed to the liquor store to buy whiskey because we aren't idiots and we knew those kegs were going to be impossible to get to. So we went and got chicken strips and started drinking. We got to the party a little late because we don't like to associate too closely with the northerners who show up before everybody else and leave thinking they've won the party by midnight. The next day we got to the fields at some point and didn't even lace up, just slept on the sideline until our consolation game which we won by 7 or 8. We then ate Jack in the Box and drank our left over beer on the way home.

Sounds like another successful Mardi Gras.

Evan, the accuracy of your fabrication is amazing.
Instead of Cici's, it was Little Caesars hot-n-ready pizzas.
No whiskey, yes gin.
No (tournament) party, yes Bourbon street, with Wax buying shots.
Swap the frisbee related activities from Saturday and Sunday, and that's pretty much how it happened!

And I'm pretty sure this is when we found out just how much Abe knows about iceboxes.
