We were at Missouri Loves Company (MLC). We won all 3 games on Saturday against Texas State (10-eight), Kenyon (11-9) and Missouri State (13-eight).

On Sunday, we lost to Wisconsin 13-9. We had some 50/50 chances break our way early in the game and jumped out to a 4-1 lead. Eventually, we took half 7-6. Our top-tier players played great and we got contributions from some of our second-line players. Wisconsin's depth shone at the end of the game when they scored 5 straight to take the game. Although they had some questionable calls, we had several break opportunities throughout the game we failed to convert that came back to hurt us. Playing a close game with an out-of-region national-caliber team was great experience that'll benefit us in the future. We felt confident heading into the consolation bracket. We were up on Oklahoma 6-4 and had a chance to take half but sloppy offense let Oklahoma back into the game and we lost 10-9. It was a game we should have won and will learn a lot from, the main lesson being that we can't keep playing up and down to our competition. Our last game was against Iowa. It was close throughout but they slowly pulled away and ended the game on a break to win 12-8. We wanted to play our last game but Air Force had to go because they had an 11-hour drive. However, we did play them in a game of rock, paper, scissors which we won 15-14 (Ian Shaffer for the game winner!).

This was a great tournament. We didn't come away with the results we wanted on Sunday but our veterans played great and our freshmen developed and provided notable performances. It showed how much potential our team has if our newer players keep improving, we keep up our intensity for the whole tournament, and fine tune the little things that kept us from winning games on Sunday (converting redzone break opportunities, balancing our defensive intensity with possession offense, and marking).
