So, with the invitation of luke, i started a facebook profile yesterday. i think its one of the most addictive internet inventions since this message board. the most interesting thing is that i can search every other u of a profile by anything in their profile. so for example, under my favorite books i list, Dune. So i click on dune, cause its a hyperlink, and i can see everyone in the facebook directory at the uofa who likes Dune. Five people as of now, including evan. this goes for favorite movies, music, interest, such as ultimate, high school graduating class, field of study, etc. One could spend hour and hours just pawing through peoples profiles. So the next interesting thing is how people expouse their personal identity through this facebook profile. when building my profile, i thought, how do i want to define myself as an individual for this facebook community at large. 1. sexy picture 2. art references, mainly books 3. Clever Quote. its really fun to go through other people's facebooks and see how they chose to manifest their identities. For example, who knew that sam lau loved Neverending Story? Not me. That shits is crazy. thats just a sample of what i've analyzed from facebook so far. look for my thesis dissertation on facebook coming out this christmas. The Dafacebook Code by Nick Welch-Bolen.

Yeah, it's creepy if they suck. It's not so bad if they are attractive ladies.

While Face Book may be useful for stalking unattainable ladies and meeting creepy people on campus, I have found it to be most useful in stalking other ultimate players =P Examples: Nick is not in the ultimate frisbee group, probably because he hates us. Zasbury's sister may be hot, I'm going to need a second opinion here.

OH, you mean YOU'RE starting conversations with people that begin with "I saw your picture on the internet." Attractive ladies must be given room to make the first move, and as such are never to be confronted without precedent.

Proper precedent:
Introduction by mutual friend.
Need a dance partner.
Apparently you both have dogs!
Reach for book at same time.

Improper precedent:
Anything to do with the internet.
My camera.
If you are Dr. Love.

imagine the next generation of kids growing up with facebook and blogs in gradeschool. for them, its going to be completely natural for everyone to know everyone's personal identity without ever meeting. better start acculturating to the next generation now, before you wake up and find that you are out of touch with what's scrumtralescent. god, thats the most frightening thing ever. NEXTGEN BABY, NEXTGEN.

I think it's good for keeping in touch with my Tulsa friends while we're in different places and knowing what's going on when I go home. It is kinda creepy, though.

I don't know anything about facebook, but I know that if people from TULSA can keep up with other people from Tulsa through it, it can only be bad.

Send it back to hell now!

knowing alot of creepy people indicates that you are a creepy/inane person.
oh and by the way, when things start getting personal, people lose things, like teammates in the quaterfinals for dodgeball. pussy!
